Behind the design

I grew seeds in zip bags for an elementary science project. It was so much fun, but I wanted to do it over and over again. That's why I came up with the idea for a larger, longer lasting planter, which first-time or experienced gardeners can both use.

This is the best thing ever! My son loves his window garden. The first and last thing he does each day is check on his plants. And he takes his observation journal very seriously. I love all the illustrations in the journal; he loves looking through it every day and has learned so much. We had had some bad luck with our bean seeds (only one has actually produced anything), but the squash ones have all been growing beautifully. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe adding a few more dirt pods in each package, since there are so many seeds provided.

My daughter absolutely loves this. It's the first thing she does in the morning. She can't wait to water them and fill in the water droplet in the observation journal! Best purchase yet!

My almost 3 year old loves his seedlings! We look and talk about them every day while we water the plants. He will go up to the plants throughout the day and talk abou t what he sees. He is taking pride in the growth of his seedlings. This is a great activity for kids and adults. It is very interesting to see the root structure up against the side.
